Rape jokes fall flat

Humor is meant to entertain and amuse.  But can sexual assault ever be funny?  Rape jokes have become an all-too-common feature on the comedy circuit in the past few years.  The BBC Women’s Hour takes a look at the phenomenon.  Let us know what you think!

  1. We often joke about that which is fearful and this certainly is a scary topic, at least for women. However, perhaps if people of faith/pastors were not so reticent to address the “Texts of Terror” in ur own biblical texts, and led the moral reflection and critique that is needed on all violence but especially gendered violence, we would find people less likely to laugh about it!
